How long is the flight from Dubai to Istanbul?

Non-stop flights from Dubai (DXB) to Istanbul Airport (IST) take about 4 hours 30 minutes westbound and roughly 4 hours 15 minutes on the way back, helped by the jet stream. Flights to Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) on the Asian side are a few minutes shorter. Istanbul is one hour behind Dubai (TRT is UTC+3, GST is UTC+4), so a 09:00 departure lands around 12:30 local time.

Which airlines fly Dubai to Istanbul non-stop?

In practice, most of our clients choose Turkish Airlines or Emirates for the outbound leg (checked bags, meals, better schedules) and consider Pegasus or flydubai for a short return if they are travelling light.

IST or SAW: which Istanbul airport should you fly into?

Istanbul has two international airports, and choosing the right one can save you an hour in traffic.

• Istanbul Airport (IST) sits on the European side, about 45–60 minutes by car from Sultanahmet, Taksim and the Bosphorus hotels. It is the hub for Turkish Airlines and Emirates. Choose IST if you stay in the Old City, Beyoğlu or along the European Bosphorus shore.
• Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) is on the Asian side, about 45 minutes from Kadıköy and Üsküdar but 60–90 minutes from Sultanahmet depending on bridge traffic. Choose SAW if your hotel is in Kadıköy or if a Pegasus fare is dramatically cheaper.

What does a Dubai–Istanbul ticket cost?

Fares move with the seasons. As a rule of thumb, a return economy ticket on a full-service airline costs USD 380–720; low-cost fares run USD 220–480 return before baggage. Business class on Turkish Airlines or Emirates starts around USD 1,600 return. Prices peak around Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Christmas–New Year and the July–August school holidays; the cheapest months are usually late January–February and November.

When to book

• Book 4–8 weeks before departure for the best balance of price and choice.
• For Eid, New Year and summer, book 10–12 weeks ahead — full-service economy sells out first.
• Fly Tuesday–Thursday when possible; Friday evening and Sunday flights carry a premium.
• Morning departures from Dubai give you a full afternoon in Istanbul and are less prone to delay.

Baggage and cabin tips

Turkish Airlines and Emirates include 23–30 kg of checked baggage in most economy fares. flydubai, Pegasus and AJet sell baggage separately — add it when booking, not at the airport, where it costs two to three times more. Istanbul Airport's arrivals hall is very large; allow 40 minutes from gate to taxi.
