Dubai Fountain
A 275-metre choreographed fountain on Burj Khalifa Lake that fires water 150 metres into the air to music — free to watch, every half hour in the evening.
The Dubai Fountain sits on the 12-hectare lake between Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. Its jets reach 150 metres — the height of a 50-storey building — and dance to Arabic, classical and pop tracks under 6,600 lights. It refurbished its systems in 2025 and returned with the same five-minute format.
Show times
Evening shows run every 30 minutes from 18:00 until 23:00 (later at weekends). Two short afternoon shows take place around 13:00–13:30, shifted later on Fridays. Each performance is different, so watching two in a row is common — and free.
Where to stand
- The Dubai Mall waterfront promenade: closest, busiest, arrive 15 minutes early.
- The bridge to Souk Al Bahar: elevated, with Burj Khalifa framed behind the water.
- Restaurant terraces at Souk Al Bahar or the mall's waterfront wing: book a table for a whole evening of shows.
- The Fountain Boardwalk (a paid floating platform 9 metres from the jets) and traditional abra rides on the lake are the ticketed ways to get closer.
